Historic Downtown Hartwell is situated one mile from Lake Hartwell, the third largest Army Corps lake in the Nation. The lake offers exciting water recreation with over 960 miles of shoreline, parks, campsites and several marinas. Located between Atlanta and Charlotte, in pristine Northeast GA, Hartwell is easily accessible from I-85 off exit 177.
Downtown Hartwell offers a wide array of retail opportunities with men and women’s boutiques, an outdoor outfitter store, arts and crafts, design and decorator shops and several restaurants from which to choose.

Laura is the owner and editor of LakeHartwellGuide.com, an online publication highlighting businesses and events in the region. She is also on the board of two local non-profits: HYDRA, which creates programs to support Hart county youth, and TORCH, a community revitalization organization.

Alice Glenn is a native Hart County. She graduated from Hart County High School and the University of Georgia. She is a certified public accountant and is an owner/employee of Grizzle, Glenn, Adams and Martin, PC. Alice was appointed to the Downtown Development Authority Board in 1997 and has served as treasurer since her appointment.
Jason is from Marietta, Ga. and now lives in Hartwell Georgia with his wife and son. Jason completed his Undergraduate Degree in Human Services at Kennesaw State University and a Master’s Degree in Leadership from Shorter University. Jason also has a Master’s Degree in International Policy Management from Kennesaw State University Jason also served in the United States Army, Georgia Army National Guard where he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Combat Medical Badge, two Army Accommodation Medals, and the Humanitarian Service Medal, among others. Jason is now the Executive Director of Hartwell Georgia’s Downtown Development Authority – Main Street Program.
