Hartwell Scarecrows 2022

Rules & Regs:

  1. Participation in the Scarecrow Bash is free; TO BE PART OF THE JUDGING, please fill out a registration form and give us your information. EVEN IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A SIGN FROM PREVIOUS YEARS.  

  2. The committee retains the right to remove any entry that is considered not to be in good taste.

  3. Scarecrows and props must be maintained by the creators throughout the month of October. Please check regularly.

  4. You can begin putting up your Scarecrows on Saturday, Sept 24th. Try to have your Scarecrows in place by October 1st so that everyone can enjoy your creativity for a full month!  If you can’t make that date, please just put your scarecrow up as soon as you can.  We want as many participants as possible!  Scarecrows will remain in place through October 31st.  Please remove all Scarecrows by Saturday, November 5th.

  5. To be eligible for winning a prize, you will need an official registration sign. If you already have a registration sign from years past, you can re-use. If you need a new sign, the cost is $20. You can pay online, or make checks payable to Hartwell Main Street. You will be assigned an identification number at the time the sign is created. Hold on to your sign for future years of Scarecrows!

  6. Voting boxes for the People’s Choice Award will be located around the square. Official ballots will only be available from a printed edition of The Hartwell Sun. Those printing their own ballots to “stuff the ballot box” will not be counted. If you do not receive The Hartwell Sun you can pick up a copy at the Hartwell Sun office

  7. Judging will be done for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners by a special committee of outside guests.

I authorize the release of photos made of the scarecrow(s) for use in advertising information packets and for DDA, Main Street or Chamber of Commerce Publications.

If you already have a registration number and sign, enter your registration number below and click Submit my Registration.  If you need a sign, please complete Section Two below.

SECTION TWO:
Complete if you need to purchase a new sign.

If you need a new sign, please pay $20 using the button below. Once paid, you will receive an email stating your sign is ready for pick up at City Hall.
